EXPERIENCE
Susan Ryan has extensive experience in audits of closely-held businesses and employee benefit plans since 1990. Her experience also includes consulting and other attest work (reviews, compilations and agreed-upon procedures) in the contractor, developer, franchisor, manufacturing, distributor, and professional service industries. Other business experience prior to entering the field of public accounting includes special risk underwriting for a Fortune 500 company.
Susan participates in professional education, certified by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, to continually improve her knowledge and refine her skills in audits, reviews and other attest work. Such education and training ensures the quality of audits and reviews and the challenge of a complex and ever-changing audit environment.
One of Susan’s functions at DiGiovine Hnilo Jordan + Johnson has been to coordinate and guide the quality control procedures of our firm, leading to repeated unqualified reports on our quality controls, issued by an independent reviewing firm. Susan is also qualified to perform peer review services of other public accounting practices under a program administered by the Illinois CPA Society. This program was established to monitor internal control processes at other public accounting firms and their compliance with professional standards.
